Literature Text

petal after petal dies to the blight
where I lay down my tears for another night.
grimly raging towards the mourning sky
a little seedling grows in dismal light.

its afterglow induced into my sleep
from a drawer stuffed with broken melodies.
hid beneath socks and shorts, and buried quite deep,

petal after petal dies to the blight;
each petal a ferry, ever ready to fly,
but melt to shreds before the sun's blazing light.

they were time's physical sweep,
yet their scent fades to pale memories,
silently leaving as I sleep.

where I lay down my tears for another night,
no augur could scry
what awe-clad plant will writhe in the light

of my concrete yet contrived keep;
maybe a fantasy story,
of socks and shorts, buried quite deep.

petal after petal dies to the blight,
fall right beneath my weary eyes.
where I lay down my tears to rest at night,

blight reaps wherever I weep.
though surreal and eerie,
all my memories are induced into my sleep
from beneath socks and shorts, and buried quite deep.
The Levianelle is of my creation. The name derived from the snake-like whirling of two half-villanelles woven into each other: one half-villanelle 'reads' forward, and one backwards, meaning that it starts and ends with a couplet (unlike the traditional villanelle).

The form is quite complex, though. It consists of 2 quatrains and 6 tercets, adding up to 26 lines opposed to the 19-lines villanelle.

The rhyme scheme: C2C1dc A1bA2 C2dc abA1 C1dc abA2 C2dC1 abA1A2

The big letters are refrains. The entire line is repeated, with slight alterations possible.

I am going to have to mention, that I have never read such a haunting and visual piece of writing. It is both unique and keeps you riveted on each stanzas every word.

What I also observed in this piece, is that the thought perception changed according to the reader easily. On the technique side of it, I found the pattern creative in its refrains, which impacted quite a lot of this works message.

This piece is both concise and authentic in its style and format, and I advise you to keep up with its excellent work Crusade.

Sincerely~
